THE FUTURE OF VIDEO MARKETING

As we know, consumers watch a lot of television and use the internet everyday.
- 32% of people used pre-recorded to watch video, compared 23% of using DVDs and 20% using Internet.
- there are only 13% of people use streamed for watching video
- However, there are just only 5-6% of people using Smartphone and tablet for watching video
The table below show us that all people over the year spent almost 20 hours per week for watching video on variety of devices. The table make it clear that there are so many ways to consume video content. The more people watch video, the more benefits that business can have by using video marketing as online advertising.

There are so many ways to use videos for business and marketing purposes. There is also a good information to produce videos to customers. 1. I find video marketing helpful in todays world, but i wouldnt want it to take over the physical relationships we have in marketing as well... Good Job

  2. Deeply true, especially for foreigners. Even today I still prefer TV and video better because sometimes I barely understand the commercial information from pure English because of language barrier. With the help of pictures, I could develop my aware level and become more alert.

    1. That's an excellent point. I wasn't really factoring in that possibility when reading this post. and to Xaviers point - I agree, online marketing is helpful but taking away from the one-on-one interaction can not be beneficial at times.

  3. this type of marketing is a very quick way for businesses to market to consumers. not only does it take minimal effort to reach many people, but the construction of the ad campaign or message can be less formal than other mediums. for example, old spice had a hit with their "on a horse" ads but had more people seen them on tv first, it might not have spread as quickly and might not have gained such a huge following.video marketing is definitely on the rise and can be a great tool for businesses. great job!

  4. I agree with Delun Cai about the language barrier. With so many people in today's society not having english as their primary language, video marking is a great way to communicate to people in other ways in the market because of the visual aspects. Marketers have to consider the language barriers amongst Canadians

  5. I agree that this type of marketing is a very quick and efficient way to market to consumers. With people being so attached to media and electronic devices in today's society it is a great way to get your message across to the consumer. With this type of marketing it also gives you both a hearing and visual message for people to receive, because of all these reasons it is clear to see why video marketing is on the rise.

  6. Absolutely true, the massive reach that is achieved by this media is incredible. Making it no argument that video marketing is only going to expand. Video marketing captivates the viewers’ attention by reaching mores senses, and helps the watcher remember ads at a later date.

    1. I agree with your comment Joel. Remembering the ad at a later date will also depend on the appeal of the ad. If the ad uses sex appeal the ad may be recalled, but the product most likely will not. This may not be as affective as humorous or fear appeals when they are used.

  7. I couldn't agree more. The graph you posted regarding the percentage of total online ad spending in Canada as of right now and the predicted amount in the future visually explains how vital online advertising and marketing is becoming to ensure success in the business world today. The internet is by far the most effective method of advertising in the most time and cost efficient manner possible. Good article, very well written.

  9. Because younger generations have shorter attention spans, video marketing is becoming more and more popular. It is a lot easy to communicate a message through a video than it is through a paragraph.

  10. I agree with Kaila in the sence that with technology evolving tremendously over the years, our generation tends to be a lot lazier. Video marketing is an excellent way to market to the younger generations who have short attention spans, therefore you can quickly communicate your message effectively to them.

    1. The videos create interactive websites for users to stay on the site which will in turn make the site more sticky. With younger viewers this will work very well, but this will also work with the more mature viewers as they are also curious about new technologies and videos.

  11. When referring to the online ads exclusively YouTube there are ads placed at the beginning and between each videos watched. This may deter people from continuously watching videos online. I think the future of online marketing videos will be personalized to reflect the YouTube videos that are being watched. This has already begun to take place, but as technology grows and better segmentation practices arise this will start to happen more and more.

If someone is watching UFC fighting video and then a shampoo commercial plays this is not addressing proper the target audience.

Overall your post had some interesting stats, the Youtube statistic certainly didn't surprise me, as it has been growing at an exponential rate since it's inception, the article overall reminded me just how important it is for us as marketers to be aware of the importance of video marketing, especially in the future.

  13. Excellent post! I am not surprised by some of the numbers you mentioned, as a college student I run into video marketing on a daily basis, it makes me realize how important it is for us as marketers to never count out the use of video marketing in our efforts.

  14. Video marketing can reach a lot of consumers easily, as now a days everyone loves watching videos online to gain knowledge and passing their time when bored. Video marketing is a way through which marketers can convey their message to their consumers in a short duration of video but in detail, which is very useful for the marketers.

  15. great post, and interesting statistics.
In my opinion through the use of videos a message can be delivered in a more interesting way. That is why at Mohawk college and in many other schools, the use of video for teaching and illustration is increasing.
