Web Marketing Reflection

Going into Web Marketing at the beginning of the year I didn't really know what to expect.  I wasn't to sure what the course would entail and cover throughout the semester, but I am glad that I did take this course.  Over the semester I really started to understand some of the important aspects of what makes up a website, website coding, the all round aspects of the social media market. All though I did know some of the material that was covered there were some things that I did not know, and I glad that I now have some knowledge of the topic.  For example:

The actual definitions and understanding of the difference between SMS and MMS is something that I hold in high regard considering I have been using it for years but never fully understood the difference between the 2.

One thing that I was not to keen about this semester was the flash mob major project. I never really understood how this is going to help me in the business world, and I didn't really take anything away from it.  I did enjoy the making of the video and working closely with some of the students in our class, but as for taken something out of it that I can put to relevant use in the business world, I am at a loss.

At the end of the year you discussed thew creation of mobile APP's, this I thought was the most interesting thing that you covered all semester.  I was always interested in how App's were created and I really wish that this could have been our major project, or maybe even the creation of our own website.  With those 2 ideas I really see what I would have taken out of it, and those 2 ideas are huge aspects in the business world and I feel that knowing how to create those 2 items would be very beneficial to business students at Mohawk College.

So in conclusion, I did take away vital information such as what makes a successful website, APP and how to market to the online community and I can put this to good use in furthering my education here in the business program at Mohawk.  I do ask that for future students coming through the program, and that we think about changing up the major assignment for them.

I would like to thank you for your dedication and patience with our class and thank you for brightening our minds and getting us ready for the future.
